About Us
Welcome to Community Church of Alton

Whether you've been to church many times—or never at all—you are welcome at Community Church of Alton. Rooted in the heart of historic Alton, New Hampshire, we are a Christ-centered community joyfully seeking to glorify Jesus and live according to the teachings of the Bible. Each Sunday morning, we come together to explore what the Bible says about life, purpose, and hope—ultimately pointing us to Jesus, who is the source of it all.

Our pastor teaches directly from the Bible in a style called expository teaching, which simply means walking through the text to understand its meaning and how it connects with everyday life. Many people find this approach refreshing and down-to-earth, especially if they’re exploring spiritual questions for the first time.

We believe that the Bible has the answers to all of life’s questions, and that the message of Jesus is good news for everyone—offering peace, freedom, and a deeper sense of purpose. We recognize that everyone is at a different place in their spiritual walk, and we joyfully invite you to take each step with us as we follow Jesus—the One who lovingly meets us where we are and leads us into truth, hope, and new life.

Our services have a relaxed, welcoming feel. We begin with music that focuses on biblical themes of hope and grace, followed by a message from the Bible that’s both thoughtful and practical. Pastor Jared often says, “My goal is to help people hear from God, not just from me.”

Our church building has long been a gathering place for the community. Originally built in 1827 as Alton’s town meeting house, that same space continues to welcome the community—not just as a historic landmark, but as a place where hearts are drawn to Jesus, and people can discover God’s purpose for their lives.

Over the years, we’ve thoughtfully expanded our facilities to include:
-
Administrative offices
-
A full kitchen and large dining area for meals and events
-
A nursery for our younger guests
-
Classrooms for all ages
-
A teen room complete with pool tables and a big-screen TV
While we’re grateful for the beautiful building and spaces we have, we believe the true heart of the church is not the structure—it’s the people. More than anything, we want this to be a place where anyone can come to explore the message of the Bible and discover the hope, peace, and joy that can only be found in Jesus.

You don’t need to have it all figured out. You don’t need to dress a certain way or know certain songs. Just come as you are—we’d love to meet you.
